Our Questions & Fears The 1st Surgery

My name is Sharon. In August of 1996, I gave birth to Tucker. He was my first child. My pregnancy went perfectly, and by the sixth month we knew Tucker was going to be a big baby. Tucker weighed in at 10lbs 3oz and was born Cesarean.
Following the delivery, Tucker was cleaned up and placed on my chest, wrapped in a warm, white blanket. As he squirmed, his left hand
popped out of the blanket and I immediately saw that it wasn't all there.
I was overcome with emotions and  fatigue. I was nauseated. My husband carried Tucker to the nursery. I was taken to the recovery room. It was the worst day of my life, and the best day of my life. Tucker was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen.
