BreezeCOM® Introduces Broadband
Wireless Internet & Telephony Solutions Targeted at ISP's and Carriers
BreezeCOM®,
Inc., a worldwide developer of wireless technology announces its new BreezeACCESS®
product line. BreezeACCESS is BreezeCOM's new IP broadband wireless local
loop (IP BWLL) data and voice system that will provide ISPs and public
operators a complete range of wireless broadband and wideband IP access
services, including high-speed Internet access, Extranet / Virtual Private
Networks (VPN), and quality telephony.
BreezeACCESS presents
a novel approach to the design of IP broadband WLL systems based on wireless
packet switching technology and is aimed at providing high-speed IP data
connectivity and "toll" quality telephony access. BreezeACCESS offers the
lowest "first subscriber" infrastructure cost in the industry, delivering
a highly scalable and effective solution for, high speed, wireless Internet
access with simultaneous telephony support.
The products provide a
high-performance, competitively priced alternative to wire-line technologies,
including regular copper wire, ISDN, ADSL and Cable modems. These products
support an aggregate traffic of 54 Mbps per location with a data transfer
rate of up to 3 Mbps per subscriber and provide simultaneous "toll" quality
telephony. The products' support of a committed information rate (CIR)
and quality of service enables the management of bandwidth availability
to multiple classes of users. BreezeACCESS is available in the license
free 2.4 GHz ISM band and is capable of operating in specific licensed
frequencies. BreezeCOM's access products will support MMDS, the recently
re-defined bi-directional transmission, licensed radio frequency (RF) band
of 2.5-2.7GHz. BreezeACCESS is already available in the 3.4-4.2 GHz WLL
international licensed bands in South America, Europe, Africa, and some
Asia Pacific countries.
BreezeACCESS is the result
of BreezeCOM's in-house developed technologies and expertise in Spread
Spectrum radio, digital system processing (DSP) modems, networking protocols
and VLSI. BreezeACCESS incorporates a sophisticated RF technology to deliver
reliable wireless connectivity, enabling deployment of cells with a radius
of over 8 miles (5 km) and reducing the number of Base Stations required
to effectively serve large areas.
The BreezeACCESS wireless
technology is cost-effective and delivers outstanding performance to subscribers.
ISPs and public operators, such as local exchange carriers, who are building
their subscriber base and experiencing steady growth can easily afford
to implement this solution. Once the wireless infrastructure is in place,
it can be scaled upward to support up to 7,000 subscribers per cell and
can be deployed just about anywhere.
BreezeACCESS employs wireless
packet switching technology and voice-over-IP transmission based on the
H.323 protocols. Wireless packet switching technology is the natural choice
for high-speed IP services, being much more efficient than traditional
circuit switching technology developed and optimized for voice traffic
only. BreezeACCESS will provide users with data rates of 3 Mbps for on-line
connectivity to the network, which is a substantial increase in speed from
other WLL solutions currently available. The bandwidth is used only when
information is transmitted, in contrast to circuit switched WLL systems
where the resources are blocked throughout a session. The packet switching
technology incorporated by BreezeCOM's access products features flexible
bandwidth allocation, allowing large bandwidth on demand for burst transmissions.
"BreezeCOM's radio design
and technology is the best on the market," said Greg Pierro, chief executive
officer of Wireless Internet Services, a Central California-based Super
ISP and BreezeCOM customer. "BreezeCOM's products were easy to implement,
extremely reliable and deliver a high data rate. In addition to the inherent
benefits of the products, BreezeCOM's radios offered a level of programming
flexibility and adapted to our bandwidth management software without any
additional development time."
